Hey, my name is Zakarya, and I am a graphic designer currently based in Edinburgh. I create bold, engaging visuals - whether it’s branding, illustration, or digital designs - I fuse elements of photorealism and digital media to conjure up dreamlike creations. Growing up, I observed highly influential artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Michaelangelo, and Takato Yamamoto to name a few.

By blending different mediums, I construct my technique in collage work by designing artistic collages which reflect a kaleidoscope of my personal emotions, influences and diverse experiences.

My name is Zakarya. As an artist, I established my joy and passion for art through boundless enthusiasm and inspiration via the vibrant mosaic of life, propelled by the voyage of my upbringing. My own thoughts, dreams, feelings, fears, and spirituality carried on as a vessel towards my creativity. My passion for collage style art as the main medium is what aids me to fulfil the intricate threads of dreamlike creations which I often contemplate. As my creations combine photorealism with digital art, I am reflecting on the vast canvas of the human experience within my art to display the colourful symphony of my life.

Prior to my art style, I began introducing my artworks by creating designs such as single or album covers for local musicians in Edinburgh as well as posters for club events, mostly relating to musical artists on my desktop. My methods then expanded onto doing photorealistic collages and exaggerated distorted portraits. At the heart of my creative expedition, there lies a deep sense of awe, wonder and admiration for the world around me. Exploring everyday personal encounters, spirituality and my own mind, I pursue an artistic odyssey that will traverse the human soul to ascend conventional artistic limitations. This is credited to my connection with influential mediums such as film, music, and of course, art, as perpetual sources of inspiration which I carry with me alongside my creative expedition.

Through my art I invite admirers to ponder their conception of reality, to elicit genuine reactions which nurtures a grand level of appreciation for life itself. This is an ode to mystery, culture, and the humanity.
